From the gym to the race track

I first learned about Gr8 Limited when I met the owner at my gym. After chatting, I discovered they'd been organising high-profile racing events in New Zealand since 2008, working with some of the industry's biggest names.

I've always had a fascination with cars, which made this feel like an ideal opportunity—a chance to blend my curiosity about automotive design with strategic branding. This wasn't about reinventing the wheel, but fine-tuning their existing strengths into something modern, dynamic, and true to their motorsport legacy.

The small tweaks that make a big difference

Instead of starting from scratch, I focused on refining details that could elevate their identity:

Brand Identity

Their existing logo didn't quite reflect the adrenaline and precision of motorsport. I explored ways to enhance its energy and clarity.

Website Clarity

The site was restructured to better showcase their expertise, making it clearer and easier to navigate.

Refined Messaging

Updated messaging to highlight their credibility, experience, and passion more effectively.

Balancing Tradition & Innovation

Each design decision was carefully balanced, respecting their motorsport heritage while embracing a modern edge.

Interestingly, only after completing the new design did I discover the owner drives a blue Mustang—a surprising yet perfect alignment with the logo I had already designed. This coincidence added an unexpected layer of authenticity to the entire project.

The refreshed concept respects the core of Gr8 Limited but sharpens it to clearly reflect who they are today:
